Lifeboat for Users of Terminated National Internet Server
The closure of a major Internet server has created an opportunity for an ambitious Scottish/Welsh computer group. Bob Garrow of R S Garrow has joined with John Lyons of Netserve Consultants to offer a replacement for the tens of thousands of users whose contracts for web-sites and e-mails were to have been terminated by NTL. on 30th November.
NTL and Boltblue announced on 22nd November a six month reprieve on their cwcom, cwc and mcmail, today OUM.biz launch their replacement service for those who are being forced to lose their e mail and website addresses.
OUM Lifeboat for people on cwcom.net, cwc.net and mcmail.com servers which NTL and Boltblue are now terminating on 31st May 2002.
The OUM, Our Users Matter service announced earlier this month is signing up users on line at OUM.biz from today 27th November. OUM are contacting directly people who have earlier expressed interest.
The OUM service registers a new domain name chosen by each customer which becomes their e mail and website address. The domain is the property of the customer, OUM has no hostage or exit charges and offers forwarding to those who for business reasons are moving to other domains or providers.
